Forresters Beach is well known for its reef breaks to surfers. The name "Forresters Beach" comes from Robert Forrester who purchased 50 acres (200,000 m2) of land in 1861.

Forresters Beach is bordered by Wyrrabalong National Park which has a variety of scenic coastal walking tracks and lookouts. Crackneck Lookout has amazing views over the coast and is a perfect vantage point to view whales on their annual migration.
