Located in the Wellington Valley at the junction of the Macquarie and Bell Rivers and at the foot of Mt Arthur, Wellington is a very typical Australian country town.
The main street is wide, the town has a large number of monuments to local people, the park is a delight, with luxurious stands of cool trees and quiet gardens for the visitor, and the shopping centre is an interesting mixture of the 1950s and the 1990s.
